Japan

On November 10th we will begin a unit on the history of Japan. Their history and our history are intertwined in many ways. Japan and our dealings with them is one of the best historical examples of cause and effect I can think of. Our actions in Japan eventually led to World War II. This unit will last for 2 weeks and will cover their beginings, imperialism, Admiral Perry, industrialization, geography, and interaction with the U.S.

Exploration and Expansion

October 20, 2008 - On Thursday we will begin our next unit on Exploration and Expansion. The students will learn about exploreres, discoveries, and new inventions that revolutionized the world. We will discuss the Columbian Exchange and the results of that exchange. This unit will last for 2 weeks.
